SS2022 Fashion Trade Shows That Retailers Should Attend
With trade magazines and online marketplaces and articles, a lot of wholesale clothing suppliers and fashion retail buyers feel like they can access all the information they need online. And they can, but only to a certain extent.
The reality is that not all businesses and wholesale suppliers invest the same time and money on SEO, which means there are brands or suppliers out there that, most likely, you would never find on Google.
It’s also true that the pandemic makes it hard to plan a few months ahead, with events postponed, cancelled, or turned into an online alternative at the last minute. But even so, attending fashion trade shows remains a must-do for those who are managing their own fashion boutique.
They are a great opportunity to network, and talk to people it’s still one of the best ways to find out what’s going on – from news to trends. So, here’s a list of the fashion trade shows you should consider attending in 2022:
Moda
6-9 February at Nec Birmingham
Specialising in womenswear, jewellery and watches, footwear and fashion accessories, Moda is one of the longest British fashion shows that still exists today. They claim to be a home of “creativity, collaboration and trading”, whilst showcasing exclusive content and the latest trends.
If you’re not based in or around the West Midlands region, Moda provides discounted accommodation and flexible cancellation terms for those attending the show – the prices include breakfast. This one has a special focus on men’s, women’s, and kid’s footwear.
Top Drawer
20-22 February at Kensington Olympia, London
The Spring Summer 2022 edition of the Top Drawer Retail Fest is returning to London in one month! Attending it is pretty much like taking a masterclass, with talks by innovative and inspiring guest speakers, industry experts and influencers.
The February edition will cover topics such as digital marketing, e-commerce, and social media trends and tips. Creativity and diversity will inspire retailers at this very special show.
London Bridal Fashion Week
20-22 March at ExCel London
East London will receive a fashion trade show that is all about brides and weddings. This is such a great topic because there’s a delicate balance between tradition and innovation when it comes to these ceremonies.
On the one hand, it feels like a day for the classic white gown and veil; on another hand, many women don’t want to be just another bride. Creativity and diversity will come together in March.
Pure London
17-19 July at Kensington Olympia, London
If you’re working with wholesale jewellery, make sure you don’t miss this one. Pure London organises their fashion trade show twice a year to connect buyers and retailers and help put brands out there in the international markets.
This summer, however, they will be having a special focus on jewellery brands, designers, manufacturers, and loose gems. Jewellery and accessories offer great profits for little investment, not to mention the evergreen quality of the items compared to clothing or wholesale shoes, so do have a think about that.
Of course, if travel is still not an option for you this year, then you can still find top local and international brands offering new season stock at low wholesale prices on TradeGala - the virtual showroom for wholesale fashion
